What are White Nights? While there's no scientific definition for "White Nights", the Main Pulkovo Astronomical Observatory describes this phenomenon as "civil twilight". This occurs when the sun dips no more than 6 degrees below the horizon, bathing our city in a soft, ethereal glow.
